Machines for Hire

Overview

Ryan from a local civil & earthworks company required a better solution than a masonry chainsaw to cut sandstone blocks at his Doonan Earthmoving Project.

Challenges

Due to the large size of the sandstone blocks Ryan was cutting, he found that his masonry saw chain and blade were wearing out quickly, requiring frequent replacements. The cost and time spent replacing the saw and chain after every four tanks of fuel were becoming a significant burden.

Ryan needed a solution quickly so that he could get the job back on track and to help stay within budget.

Solution

earth gear supplied a 5 tonne rock saw at very short notice to help solve Ryan’s problem. Ryan noticed that at the end of the project earth gear’s diamond rock saw had very little wear and because he wasn’t changing the blade constantly it saved him a lot of time and money.

Result

earth gear’s prompt response and supply of the 5 tonne rock saw allowed Ryan to return to the Doonan earthmoving project at hand, reduced downtime, increased productivity and saved money.

Client Feedback

‘earth gear have been great! I needed a rock saw to complete this job and they got one organised for me in a short time.

Their backup support was really really good.

Originally we were using a masonry chainsaw and we were going through a chain and blade every 4 tanks of fuel.

Where as with this saw we went a whole week and it worked out perfect and the wear and tear has been really good.
