Overview
Unity water is making a significant investment in new water infrastructure to support the growing demands of the Harmony community. This essential project will ensure that the Harmony community continues to receive safe, reliable water services as the population expands.
The new infrastructure is designed to meet the future needs of the Sunshine Coast and accommodating the 21,000 residents expected in Harmony by 2036.*
As part of Unity water’s commitment to fostering sustainable growth, the Harmony Water Project includes the construction of a new water reservoir at Tanawha. The construction requires the installation of 2.6 kilometers of a new water pipeline. The pipeline will connect the reservoir to Harmony in Palmview. This project required the use of specialised equipment, including a custom-designed 8000l water truck that is able to meet the strict compliance standards of a tier-one construction site.

Challenge
This key infrastructure project is in close proximity to residential housing and as a part of the project compliance, dust suppression is critical in order to avoid disrupting the residents. Water trucks can help suppress unnecessary dust entering surrounding properties, settling on house roofs which feed water tanks, cars and other personal items. Sunshine Civil Solutions needed a reliable water truck that could meet the specific requirements of their project.

Solution
To support the Harmony Water Project, earth gear provided a custom designed 8000-litre water truck to meet the specific requirements. The 8000L water truck was received by earth gear at 2 pm and registered by 4 pm, ensuring a quick turnaround to meet the tight project timeline. By 6 am the following morning, the truck was successfully delivered to Sunshine Civil Solutions. Ready for use on-site.
