Overview
earth gear was proud to supply machinery and equipment to support the construction of the new Anaconda site at Brendale, set to become the largest Anaconda store in the Southern Hemisphere.
With a large-scale commercial footprint and challenging site conditions, this project required high-performance machinery capable of handling bulk earthworks, demolition, and site preparation safely, quickly, and efficiently.

Challenges
The Anaconda Brendale site presented two major challenges.
Bulk Earthworks:
The first task involved digging and moving large volumes of earth across steep terrain. The client needed equipment that could handle the incline without compromising speed or safety. Timeframes were tight, and site access was limited in certain areas – making mobility, reliability, and efficiency absolutely critical.
Demolition of Existing Infrastructure:
The second challenge involved breaking up and removing old footpaths and culverts no longer needed in the new site layout. This required precision, the right attachments, and machines with the grunt to get through solid concrete and reinforced structures safely and cleanly.

Solutions
To meet the demands of this high-pressure site, earth gear delivered a tailored equipment package to the Anaconda site:
- Hydrema Site Dumpers were brought in to tackle the steep terrain. Known for their power, speed, fuel efficiency, and off-road performance, these dumpers kept earthmoving productivity high without the risk of getting bogged down or tipping over.
- earth gear excavators – all low-hour, fully civil spec machines – ensured safe and reliable performance across the site.
- For the demolition scope, earth gear supplied rock breakers and 5-finger hydraulic grabs. These attachments allowed the excavators to safely and efficiently break down and remove concrete footpaths and culverts as required, without delays or incident.

Results
The combination of modern, fit-for-purpose equipment and earth gear’s responsive service ensured the project ran smoothly from start to finish.
- All equipment supplied by earth gear
- Zero breakdowns across both scopes of work
- On-time project delivery
Once again, earth gear proved to be the one-stop solution for civil equipment dry hire delivering the gear, reliability, and support that civil contractors across South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales count on.
